She was the sweetest girl with such a strong testimony! she is a convert of 2 years and is 16 years old right now:) haha funny thought. So everyone knows that sister Crump and i are pineapples (brown on the out side and blonde on the inside) haha and that we are the funnest coolest people ever!! so we were asking kimberly what she thought about us and she said that we were gangsters!! best complement of my life!! haha anyways she was so nice to get a present for sister Cump and i  and they were the softest cutest blankets ever! ahhh!!

merry christmas!!

sister Crump helping make cookies, (if you look really close you can tell that sister Crump is really messy!!) hahah

Merry Christmas everybody!!

this last week has been AWESOME! so many things have happened but i will just summarize it all:) so for the past month now sister Crump and i have been meeting with this man named Billy. he is dating this girl who's name is Emily, She was excommunicated but is trying to get back to church! anyways they are living together and they are planing on getting married and Billy wants to get sealed in the temple to Emily.and ever since sister Crump and i have been meeting with Billy we have been praying for a date to invite Billy to get baptized on and january 3rd just kept popping up in our heads so finally last night after teaching billy, and his son Cody and Emily's daughter Olivia we invited him to be baptized! but before all of this Billys home teachers came over and  billy was sick and they offered to give him a blessing. and the spirit was so strong.we asked him about it after, and he told us it was really overwhelming, and then really peaceful.  so we taught him and his family the plan of salvation. such a perfect lesson:) but after we talked to him about getting baptized.. and he was like ya, i want to. and emily started freaking out cuz that means they are getting married!!!!!!!! but also that means they are getting married in the next 2 weeks. billy was like i could do that! we could just get married and make the temple wedding the big one.
thats not even the best part. 2 of their kids will be getting baptized with them. and then emily will be eligible for baptism in a  year or so and billy will be able to baptize her and then a year after that they will be able to get sealed!! ahhhh!!! and at the end of the lesson emily was in tears and was like, i hope you never forget our family. you have made such an impact on us.!! like wow...... sister Crump and i just couldnt stop freaking out! and it is a christmas miracle because we are getting a baptism for christmas!!! my dreams came true!!! ahhhhh best miracle story ever huh!?

hahah and this week sister Crump and i also got to go do some service for this place called HAAM. we did some service there for thanksgiving but we also did if for christmas but it was amazing because we got to give out presents to people for there kids and some many were crying afterwards and then sister Crump and i got to make cookies with this family in our ward named the whites:) and after wards we went and handed them out to our investigators and the less actives. then sister Crump and i invited another one of our investigators named sonia to be baptized on january 10 and she said yes! we are going back tuesday night to confirm it with her:) oh and she also came to church yesterday and she loved it!! ahhh!! miracle on top of miracle on top of miracles huh!!? a lot more happened but i can write about it all because im already to sick of typing sorry!!

well i love you all! i hope you have a wonderful christmas! be good so that you dont get coal!!

your a mean one mr grinch

this is sister McPherson posterity so we are all of the one sister McPherson has trainned.

sister Crump and i found this man who had been bitten by a shark! so of course i asked him to if we could take a picture with him

hahah so this last week has been crazy! from Monday to Tuesday i went on exchanges with sister McPherson and we went to her area which is Livingston. Livingston is the country and they have to cutest little town ever! it was so fun to be back with sister McPherson for the day and learn new things from her just like the good old days:)

Wednesday our whole mission got together in bay town and had a christmas conference from 8:30 in the morning til 5 pm so that was fun and sister McPherson and i did the cup song in the talent show that they had.

Thursday was weekly planing and so sister Crump and i were inside most of the day planning and the Friday was our only day to go out and teach so lessons which was awesome and then Saturday was our wards Christmas party and that same day the ward had a child of record baptism and the bishop asks the missionaries in the ward to always be there so sister Crump and i were at the church form 10 in the morning til 9 pm that night! i never thought i would be at church that long but i guess i should never say never! hhaha the party went so well! there was about 300 people and half of them were either less actives or non members so it was a good finding opportunity for us missionaries. it was also elder knebels birthday Saturday so being the good sister missionaries that sister Crump and i are we took the snow flakes that we have been making to put in our apartment and put it on the elders door for his birthday.:) i know we are such great sister!! hahah

Sunday we had a member named mckayla gurrero (shes 17) come out with us and sister Crump and i have really been trying to rely on the spirt more so every time we are in the car we ALWAYS pray to see what heavenly father wants us to do. so we were with mckayla and we had her pray and ask heavenly father if we should see this man named greg, chris, or Vanessa. (its these three people because they all live in the same complex apartments) and after she was done i looked over at sister Crump and i said "ive got my answer but what is yours?" she then replied " Greg" then i said me too! and mckayla then freaked out and said " oh my gosh!! my too!!" ahaha it was so cool and cute to see her freak out and we knew that we had all received revelation. we then went over to gregs who is a new investigator of about a week or two ago now and he let us in and we taught him about the book of Mormon. and the cool thing was is he told us how he had his own book of mormon that he had gotten a couple of years ago!! sister Crump and i just couldn't stop freaking out that Greg has been being prepared for years and he doesn't even know it! we are going to see himtomorrow so i will tell you more about him next week!

i love you all!! merry christmas! and a happy new year! your the best! keep up the good work! remember who you are! stand for truth and righteousness! god bless everyone:)

christmas.mormon.org

my district at the temple

sister Crump and i at the temple

yep this is our chirstmas tree that i made! hahah its pretty great:)

you may be wondering why my email title is christmas.mormon.org but its because all of you need to go to it and watch a 2 min. video about jesus christ!! it is so awesome and i think everyone needs to watch it:)

so this week has been amazing! because the last couple of weeks sister Crump and i have been so busy this week we worked really hard and because of it we now have a baptism coming up on the 21st for this girl named Olivia Hanson. She is the sweetest girl, she 8 and we are hoping that because of her getting baptized her soon to be father will get baptized. i will explain. So this girl named Emily Hanson was excommunicated and she is now coming back to church and is dating/ living with this man named billy. Billy is taking the lessons and wants to get baptized but he knows that he needs to marry Emily before he can get baptized. He is proposing to Emily on new years eve and she knows nothing about it. Now what i want him to do is to propose to her get married a couple of days later and then in a year or two or how ever long it takes then the can get cealed in the temple and they can make that i big and amazing wedding thing:) so sister Crump and i are hoping that with olivia getting baptized (Olivia is Emilys daughter) then Billy will want to get baptized sooner! so he will marry emily sooner!! hahah but we will see:) billy and emily are amazing though!! they come to church every week and billy already has a testimony and yesterday he wanted to get up and bare his testimony but he didnt know if he could because hes not a member yet! but they are truly awesome!! ahhh!! i love their family i just get so giddy over it!:)

the prophets have promised the missionaries that if they pass out these christmas cards everyday and we have to at least hand out 10 cards a day then we will get new investigators! so you know sister Crump and i took that to heart and one day we passed out 47 cards! yep we were that determined! hahah it was so fun and we now have 4 new investigators which surprisingly is a lot:) and because we were so determined we got the a phone call last night from our zone leaders telling us that we were the best in the zone this week and that we were stealing all of the thunder from everyone else:)

this last week our zone got to go to the temple and do a session!! it was amazing and afterwards we sat in a room for an hour and had the president of the temple and president drake and sister drake answer questions for anyone who had them. it was amazing:)

this week has truly been amazing!! i love being a missionary and i love working hard. the church is true!! please go and tell your friends you will truly be blessed for it!:) i love you all!! have an amazing day!!

love sister Turpin.

thanksgiving

this morning i woke up 15 mins early for sister Crumps birthday and decorated her desk and made her break fast and then suprised her with it:)

hello everyone!

so many things happened this week! first off on tuesday sister Crump and i were knocking on some apartments because this less active lives there but i didnt know what door was hers so we decided just to knock until we found it, 5 doors after knocking we found her! after we gave the lady a message we thought we would knock some more and from that we got 3 potentials one of them being this lady named Dawn. The next day we were at the church all day helping with this funeral and then going to book of mormon class so when 8 oclock came we raced to get over to dawns house but unfortunately Dawn had stood us up so we decided since we had had so much sucess that we would try to knock on some more doors. the first door we knocked on this 19 year old girl named Vanessa answered it and of course we start off by saying how we are and asking if she would like to hear a brief little message about christ and his gospel, and usually people say ya come back later, but Vanessa was like ya! come on in!! hahah sister Crump and i looked at each other and was like ok!!! hahah it was so funny!! we went in and started to get to know her a little bit and we were asking her all of these questions that we usually wouldnt say and she kept asking all of these questions pertaining to the plan of salvation. i kept thinking about how we always teach the restoration of the gospel first but the plan of salvation just kept coming into my head so i pulled out my little thing that i use when i teach lesson two and we taught her the plan of savlation. it was amazing!! she took it all so well and you could feel the spirit so strong!! after we left sister Crump and i couldnt stop freaking out!! vanessa is so prepare and she is so amazing!!

thursday was thanksgiving, sister Crump and i ate with the stewarts and it was so good! but unfortunately they didnt have any kind of potatoes so sister Crump and i after wards went over to the scannells and asked them if we could have some of there leftover potatoes:) hahah

Friday our ward had a temple trip and Cindy and Makaeyla got to come and do baptisms for the dead for their first time!! it was such an amazing experience and i am so blessed and grateful that i got to go and be apart of that for Cindy and Makaeyla:)

sunday was the day i GOT to give my talk;) hahah sister Crump went first and I went second. while i was waiting there i looked out at everyone and no one was smiling!!! so when it was my turn to give my talk i stood up went to the pulpit and said "wow i am so happy to be at church today, now all i ask before i begin is to see everyone smile because where im standing it looks like im the only one that is happy to be here" everyone laughed and smiled which was nice and then i began my talk. it went really well and after wards i had a lot of people come up to me and tell me how they liked my joke but i was serious! i guess they just didnt get it... hahah anyways

one thing i would love to challange everyone for now on is to everynight get down on your knees and thank god for something that you usually take for granted one thing that you can see that god really helps you out in. and i know as you will do this you will see how much god loves you, how much he cares for each and everyone of you, how much he truly does do for you. i love you all so much! and i know sometimes i take you all for granted but i want you to know that you all do so much for me and i am so happy and grateful that i know all of you! your amazing! keep up the good work with being an example to all of those around you.

November 24, 2014

sister Crump and i tried to make texas cookies during weekly planning. but they didnt turn out that good...

 hello everyone!

a lot of things happened this week!. First off transfer calls were on saturday and i was so scared because i didnt want to get transferred 2 days before thanksgiving. 2nd because i felt like i still had work to do in huffman and 3rd because i wanted to stay longer with sister Crump. luckily i got my wish!! i am staying another transfer here in huffman! i also found out that sister McPherson who is in my zone is now a sister training leader and is going to train again!! hahah its crazy because in each zone there are 2 sister training leaders and the other sister training leader in our zone is sister Enright who was sister Crumps trainer!! so sister Crump and i sister training leaders are our moms!! (moms = trainers in the mission language) haha isnt that awesome!! also that means that i will be staying in this area for 6 months!! I LOVE IT!!!!!

this week my district had the privilege of doing service in the humble area. we were there from 10 am till 2 pm putting things together to give to the homeless. and the lady that was in charge of it all was so impressed that she wants us to come back for Christmas!! it was such an amazing experience to see the look on the peoples faces as we gave them there food and also a good little opportunity to do missionary work! although no one wanted to listen to a message they now know that we are messengers of Jesus Christ and we planted a lot of seeds from it!!

yesterday i found out that the bishop wants sister Crump Elder Knebel and i to speak at church this coming sunday! our topic is on gratitude and thanksgiving. Im pretty nervous because im not a big fan of doing talks in church but im a missionary so i (GET) to do it right? haha well you will all have to wish me good luck on it because its kind of stressing me out!

this transfer we have really been working with our less actives and this man named Aaron Wright who is a less active went on a mission to Washington and now he is less active. I found him my first week here during hour of power but didnt get back in with him until sister Crump came. since then we have gone to see him atleast once a week and last week we were seeing him and we are just straight up with him because he used to be a missionary so he already knows what we are going to ask him to do so we were trying to get him to come to church and he finally told us that his desire has changed and that he now has a desire to come to church because of us but it might just take a little while. i know that doesnt sound like that much but if you know Aaron then you would know that that is something big! i love how as long as we are doing our job and working diligently then God will give us miracles just like for example sister Crump and I went to this baptism yesterday for the humble ward, We had been trying all week long to get someone to this baptism and finally 9 mins before it began we called this recent convert named shawna Terpstra and asked her if she would like it come. She said yes in no time was there. It truly was a miracle! i love seeing how God works as we try our very best to do the lords work.

i love you all!! i hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving!! i know i will be! keep up the good work by being examples to all of those around you! and i promise as you do this the lord will bless you:) love you all!! and happy thanksgiving!!!

Houston City. our as people in texas call it (useton) hahahha

Sister Crump trying to teach me about politics.

i get really cold so this is what i look like every morning when we are studying

howdy everyone!,

this week was a COLD WEEK! wow! so sister Crump and i decided that we would try to save some miles and walk and bike some places.... lets just say it wasn't the best idea because it was in the 30's and 40's soooo ya and on top of that everyone in Utah told me that it wouldn't get cold down here. but they were wrong! it gets really cold down here!!! haha so unfortunately i listened to the people in Utah and didn't bring any warm clothes out with me. but luckily the members out here are really nice and have let me borrow some of their coats and gloves for the time being:)

this week sister Crump and i got to go out of our area into the city of Houston because this man who used to be less active was in the hospital. I guess him and his wife used to be members and then got offended and left the church. but after 50 years of being less active brother kendrick's wife died and he decided that it was time for him to come back to church. sister McPherson was the one who helped him come back and it had almost been a year that he had been back so he was going to go through the temple and get sealed to his wife but cancer came out of no where and now it is up in his head. He received the Melchizedek priesthood and then went to the hospital the next day:( sad i know:( we are all hoping that he will be able to get to the temple real quick before he dies so that him and his wife can be sealed but from the look of things it probably wont happen.

sister Crump and i also started teaching this lady named Lucinda Goode. she likes to go by Cindy though...:) anyways she was a mormon.org referral and she had referred herself because she works with doterra and the owners of doterra are members and it spiked her interest.Anyways she is a sweet fun lady that is in her 50's. she is so prepared and seems very interested in joseph Smith. We will be seeing her this week on wednesday again so i will have to let you know how things go!! wish sister Crump and i good luck! haha

So one thing you all should know is that sister Crump loves politics! haha so one day during lunch she sat me down and had to explain everything about politics and how they work! hahaha i dont even know if i still understand everything but i think i kind of do now....

welll i have to go but i love you all!! the church is true, tell your friends and family members! stand for truth! be an example to everyone you see. God loves you and so do I:)

November 10, 2014

hello everyone!

well i first have to start off with saying the mission life is just getting better and better everyday! i love how i get to get out of my comfort zone everyday and go talk to people about the gospel. It is so exciting and nerve racking all at the sametime!

this week was exchanges and it was my first time i didnt lead out the area on exchange. I went to humble with this sister named sister Stoffrhan. She is the sweetest girl ever! she goes home in about two weeks and she hasnt even gotten trunky yet! she is totally someone that i look up to and i hope that i will be more like her with the hard work and kindness that she has. One thing i have been working on is immediately teaching when i talk to someone on the street so when we were on exchanges thats what we worked on. i know i am really good at talking to people and not making things awkward but i now have to talk to people about gospel things. and while we were walking door to door contacting people we found a dead snake!! my first snake in texas and probably not my last! hahaha

because i have been working on immediately teaching sister Crump and i were walking to a dinner appointment that we had and we saw these two women talking so obviously we go up and make some light conversation and then immediately start teach and one of the ladys name was shawn. She was being kind of mean to us so finally we left and while we were in the middle of our dinner appointment there was a knock on the door and so this little girl name madi ran to open in. and to our surprise it was shawn!! she had come up to apologize to use!! it was truly a blessing in disguise! haha we were so shocked that we didnt know what to do!! haha but were learned that as long as we are kind and stand on our ground we will see miracles! i love it!!!!

on monday we had a district pday and went to this park and had a bbq and then went and rode our dbikes:) it was so fun and thats what these pictures are from:) well sorry my letter isnt that good today my mind is kind of going everywhere right now:) well i love you all! thanks for all that you do! remember God loves you and i do too:)

well i dont know what pictures i put on but enjoy!! love you all!! hahah

November 3, 2014

hello everyone!,

well a lot of things happened this week. Wednesday was our wards trunk or treat/ chili cook off which was really fun! we couldnt really dress up so sister Crump and i just dressed up like each other and switched name tags for the night. Then the atascocita elders and us huffman sisters got to judge the costumes for everyone and there were so many good costumes that we picked three and after we took a picture with the winners because they were that AWESOME! then halloween day all missionaries had to be back in their apartments by 7 so sister Crump and i thought we would have a little party and watch familys can be together forever.... i think that's what the name of the movie was.... anyways it was this funny littly movie that was made in the 80's so as you can probably guess it was very cheesy. Then saturday was the adult session of stake conference and president drake and sister drake came up and spoke. President drake made all the missionaries stand up and then made all of the returned missionaries stand up and then made all of the other people stand up who have a calling in the church. It was amazing because when he asked for all of the returned missionaries to stand up more than half the people stood up. It was a sight to see! he then made everyone sit down and said. " now look you all have a purpose in missionary work, you ALL need to go out and talk to people with out you the missionaries are nothing!" it was crazy! all of the talks that night were on missionary work and how we as members and missionaries can come together and help the lords work show. Right after that they reminded us about day light savings time and how we would be gaining an hour. Sister Crump and i took this to heart and thought " AWESOME! THE ONE DAY IN OUR MISSION WHEN WE WILL BE ABLE TO SLEEP IN!" our alarm clock was on our phone so we just figured that the phone would change at midnight and everything would be good. The next morning the alarm went off at 630 and we woke up and just layed in bed since it was sunday and we dont exercise on sundays..... i then started taking some pictures of sister Crump because it ws freezing in our apartment and she looked funny:) haha we finally got up got ready and then began our studys at 8 we were studying and i decided to look at the phone and to my suprise the time on the phone said 720! i then hurried and called the elders and asked what time it was they then asked me what time i thought it was! i then replied is it 720 or 820 just tell me! they then told me it was 720.... sister Crump and i couldnt believe it.... the one day we could take advantage of our sleep and instead we woke up an hour to early... ya it was awful! but we learned our lesson!! haha then at stake conference they changed up the stake presidency so that was fun to watch and we went with a less active named sandy bond so it was so good to have her there, to see sister McPherson because she is in my stake and then to see some of the quorum of the 70 come and speak to everyone. sorry there is so much! just so much happened this week! i love you all! i will tell you how things go spiritually next week since i am out of time but i love you all your amazing! remember that god loves you and that you are all children of god destined for something amazing. the church is true tell your friends:)

pranks on pranks

the decoration that lynda gave me:) i love it bythe way and yes i am wearing my footie pjs:)

sister Crump burnt one of her dressed for her 9 month mark

happy halloween everyone!!

well there is one story that i have to share with all of you. So a couple of days ago while sister Crump and i were doing personal study sister Crump went to go use the bathroom so i took this opportunity to go grab this little santa that we have in our apartment. his name is sandy by the way.... anyways i put it right by the door to the bathroom and then ran back to my desk to resume my studying. All of a sudden i heard this yell/ sream followed by an oh my gosh!! haha i had totally just scared sister Crump! haha it was so funny! she then proceeds to tell me that she was going to get me back. a few days passed and everynight the district leader calls to check that we have made it in. (oh random fact, my district leaders name is elder sarchet and we went to efy one year together, how crazy is that) anyways sister Crump was on the phone with him and all of a sudden i hear her say, you want to help me play a prank on sister Turpin? i rushed to her to try to figure out what she was planing on doing but unfortunately i didnt hear anything. i decided that i would just be on my guard all the next day. but when morning came i had totally forgotten all about it. Sister Crump and i woke up at 630 just like always and then went out side to do our exercise. we closed the door behind us and started walking when all of a sudden i heard this noise, so i went back to see if our door had opened up or something because sometimes it does that, i looked around and then my eyes went up wards so look up the stairs and bam!! i saw a pair of feet on the stairs! it scared my to death! i ran to sister crump and said " oh my gosh there is someone up stairs!!" ha we start walking and i look back and there is two guys with hoodies on and i turn back around quickly and say to sister Crump "theres two guys back there!" i try to start walking faster but sister Crump just kept walking slow! i looked back again, the two guys were following us!! i was like, "who would be up at 630 in the morning!?" i look back again and they were still following us, i then thought to myself, what if they are going to rape us!! sister Crump and i turned the corner, and i yelled "RUN!!" haha i then took off as fast as i could and sister Crump was right behind me finally i stopped running and said " i think we lost them!!" we started walking doing our workout and sister Crump just kept looking back! i asked her why she kept looking back and then after about 5 mins i realized, everything just clicked in my head and i yelled out loud, "are those the elders!?" haha sister Crump then started busting out laughing. sister Crump totally got me!! haha i started laughing to and we started to walk back to our apartment to find the elders. i guess Sister Crump had asked them to just wear all black and then during our workout to just follow us like creepers and let me tell you it totally worked!! haha so you will have to give me ideas of how i can get sister Crump back. well i love you all! sorry i have to get off but i want you to all know that i love you!!

one week down

look how long my hair is getting!! im so excited to see how long it will be when i get home!

last day together with sister McPherson meant eating at dennys!

hey everyone!:)

well this week started out a little rough! haha not in a bad way at all but i got a new companion named sister Crump and i had heard a lot of rumors about her so i was very nervous but in the end everything has been just great:) haha the week started out rough because i had to lead out the area and it was stressing me out! like really!! i would barely eat anything and i would start feeling sick cause i was that nervous! i actually cried the first two nights that sister Crump and i were put together but luckly sister Crump was so nice about it and she would just hold me and let me know that i could lead out the area and that i was doing a good job. i can tell that sister Crump is a good missionary and i am excited to see where things will take us! all of last week we were trying to do every little that right and be perfectly obedient and i know even though we didnt teach that many lessons we got a lot of return appointments and last night we found a family so we will be going back today to start teaching them! their name is the Garza's the mother speaks spanish and the kids speak english so we are going back tonight to see how things go but we might have to change this familly over to the hermanas to teach just because of the wife but we will see! sister Crump and i also found this lady named Mary Lee and she said we could come back so we should be seeing her sometime this week as well! that means that if everything goes through as planed we will have 7 new investagators and i only know that we had so many blessing because we were being so obedient and diligent!

yesterday one of our investagators Debbie came to church. Sister Crump and i had to leave after sacrament though because sister Crump had a baptism in her last area which was woodville and woodville is about 2 hours away from huffman and the baptism was at 1230 but luckly Debbie was ok with us leaving and we made sure that there were people all around to watch over debbie. we actually asked Cindy to fellowship debbie and everything went so great! this week turned out to be such an amazing week with so many blessing and miracles. And even though sister McPherson is gone and i thought i was totally going to ruin this area i have learned that as i stay obedient, work hard and be diligent, and have faith everything will work out:) i love you all so much! thank you for all that you do! your amazing! everyone should go look up the talk " beware of pride"! it is such an amazing talk and i think everyone could benefit from it:) once again i love you all! have a wonderful day! remember you are all children of our loving heavenly father who loves you all so much!!:)

hey everyone!

well this last week was a crazy week! tuesday i was sick and so sister McPherson insisted that i stayed in and slept so that i could get better so all day long i did nothing!! just kidding, no we did a lot of crafts and ate a lot of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins that we made monday during p-day. and slept! yep then thursday we got to go to the church and watch the movie "meet the mormons" it was so good!!! like ahhh!! haha everyone needs to go and see this movie if they havent already. friday was zone conference and the zone leaders and sister training leaders did such a great job! like wow! there meeting was all about how we were called from god to come down to the texas houston east mission and find those people that god has been specifically been preparing for us. and how we need to be bold in inviting people to repentance because we have so many people to back us up. i loved it! then saturday was transfer calls. i guess the AP's call the zone leaders and then the zone leaders call the district leaders and then the district leaders call the missionaries and tell them who is getting transfered. when we got that call that night we found out that sister McPherson was getting transfered and that i was going to have to lead out the area.... how scary is that!!!? ya sister McPherson and i stayed up almost all night long crying and then we had to wake up at 5 the next morning to go to a ward council meeting that was at 630 so that sucked! then a little bit of sunday and all of monday sister McPherson had time to pack her stuff up which was so weird! today was transfer meeting and how we do it in this mission is all the missionaries and their companions go to the stake center and theres this video that plays and afterward President Drake stands up and starts reading off who your companion is going to be and the area that you are going to serve in so ya! we dont know anything until tuesday. So i now have a new companion named sister Crump she is from highland utah and has been out for about 9 months now. She seems very sweet and nice but im a little nervous because i have heard that she is not that obedient and stuff so we will see how things go!! wish me all good luck and pray that we will get along and work well together because im going to need it! anyways i love you all so much!! oh ya! i almost forgot!! kaitlyn got baptized this saturday and things went really well! but i love you all! thank you for all that you do for me! i very much appreciate it:)

conference weekend

sister McPherson and i like to stick grapes in our mouths:)

howdy yall!

hahah unfortunately i haven't said the word ya'll yet but we will see;) a lot of things happened this week. Monday was exchange day, and once again i had to lead out the area! im guessing they did that probably so that i could get comfortable doing it since this will probably be my last week with sister McPherson and my 12 weeks of training will be done! its crazy to think that i have already been out for about 3 months now!! i feel like only yesterday i came out and the time is just going by WAY to fast. but exchanges went really well! other than our gas was almost out so we went to go fill it up and the card wasn't working!! i started to panic a little but we said a prayer and god totally answered it. the power of prayer is so amazing!

the rest of this week was crazy! we had to investigators that were going to come to the first session of conference on Saturday but then Thursday we found out that they would not be showing conference at the church because the satellite was broken. we then started calling all of these people to see if they were going to be home for the morning session of the Saturday conference, we asked about 7 or 8 people and they all so no except for one!! she said she would pick them up and everything was going great! Friday night we called our investigators to just make sure one more time and they were both good. Saturday morning came and sister McPherson and i were doing our companion studies when we received a call from one of our investigators named Debbie,( she is one of the ones who was going to watch conference) she said "sorry girls i am going to have to cancel because i need to watch my grand kids"............... ya soooo that just happened!! then sister Hemming (the sister that said that it would be ok for our investigators to watch conference at there house) calls and says "Claudia (the other investigator who was supposed to watch conference) isnt home...." it was so embarrassing!! sister McPherson and i were so upset and sad. but we went over to sister Hemmings and watched the first part of conference with her. then the second session we went over to the Misbachs and helped sister Misbach paint her kitchen while we listened to conference.

sunday  we went over to the misbachs and watched the first session and then they feed us lunch and then we went over to the stewarts for the second session and watched that with them and then they feed us dinner. ya they feed us brisket, which i dont see what the big deal is... it tastes just like roast beef. but i wasnt feeling good all day yesterday so they were so nice to let me take a short little nap after conference while they were cooking dinner. as you can tell in the pictures... haha

we will be having a baptism this saturday for the 11 year old girl named Kaitlyn. We are so excited for her and it makes it even more exciting because we have been teaching her mom and hopefully her mom will want to follow in her foot step into the waters of baptism as well:)

i love the people here!! my ward is amazing!! the last 2 days members have been coming over in the morning to give us breakfast or lunch so it is nice because we are getting feed 2 to 3 times a day but. i hope this will slow down so that i can choose what i want to eat! i love where im at right now, i loved conference, i love the people here, and i love YOU guys so much!! sorry this letter is so random, my mind cant really focus right now because i think im coming down with a little bit of a flu, i love you all though! be safe! share the gospel, keep writing me and i promise i will write you back. remember who you are! you are all children of god.

i love you all!! love, sister Turpin

listening

hello everyone!

life is good over here in Texas:) one of my goals this week was listening. Listening to the people, listening to the spirit, listening and focusing on things around me! just everything. And if you really know me you would know i have a really hard time with listening..... my mind just goes off to wonderland or something. i don't know? just one second i will be listening, and then the next i'm thinking about something in my head!! it truly is a problem that i am trying to fix. Anyways! i have been striving to not teach the lesson but teach the people. but what i was trying to get at was that last night sister McPherson and I were at Cindy's house because we have to teach ALL of her family the lessons again cause that's what you do once someone is baptized. So we are sitting down trying to teach the first lesson with Cindy, and i feel like its going no where..... i have this thought come into my head to have Cindy watch "you never know" its a Mormon message that i have been dying for Cindy to watch. obviously i followed my impression and had her watch it. by the end of the video sister McPherson, Cindy and I were all tearing up. Cindy reviled her "ice berg" or in other words what was worrying her at the bottom of her heart! it was such a spiritual experience! i truly felt like i had helped Cindy for the better instead of just trying to get a lesson in with her. After we left sister McPherson said, "sister Turpin do you not realize what you just did!? you followed the promptings of the spirit and you listened to her!! that was amazing!!" hahaha it really was amazing! it felt so good to know that the spirit truly did just work through me and help a love child of God.

women's conference was amazing!! that hour and a half went way to fast!! Cindy sat next to me and would lean over and just ask little questions here and there, and at the end of it she turned and looked at me and said. "i need to get my temple recommend" with her eyes tearing up. and for all of you who watched the women's conference you would understand why she said that. because almost all of the talks given that night were about the temple and what it can do for us here on this earth. i loved it when the little Asians sang a song. it made my eyes just tear up seeing how the gospel is practically all over the world. That anyone and everyone can learn about the truth of this wonderful gospel.

i love the blessing and miracles that i see in this gospel everyday. because i'm a missionary i look for them now, and i wish i would have been looking for them even before i became a missionary because i know that those blessing are surrounding us all we have to do now is look for them. Its like elder Dieter F. Uchdorf  said "our heavenly father constantly rains his blessings down upon us. we now need to close our umbrella and receive those blessings." i challenge all of you this week to look for those blessing and miracles and to look for the good in others. i am so excited for general conference this week end! and i am so excited to hear all the wonderful things that you all have learned from it. remember that when the prophet speaks its really God that is speaking to us. i love you all and i hope you are all doing good and striving to be a great example to those around you. remember who you are. you are all sons and daughters of our loving heavenly father that loves each and every one of us.
