April 27, 2015

this is miguel. we reactivated him. he used to be less active. but tonight was his last night in lake charles he is moving back to newyork! but i told him to be worth to go through the temple so that he can come to my wedding one day:) haha its a good goal right!?

Hello everyone!

things here in lake charles are going really well!! sister Burgoyne and i saw so many miracles i love it!! first off the week started off with me going to orange for an exchange with the orange sisters and then later on this former investigator called and wanted us to come by and see her! we went and her named is Jeri she has been clean from meth for about 9 months now and has gone to jail 2 or 3 times now so she is on probabtion. and she LOVES smoking!! she smokes like evey 30 mins! ahaha anyways she is this really sweet girl who came to church for the first time ever on sunday! it was awesome! she is going to have to go slow which is totally ok, but i think she already knows that this is true!! then there is this other lady that was a referral from God named cynthia who came to church this sunday as well! it was awesome! she totally fit in and loved every second of it! sister Burgoyne and i know that she will get baptized its just the when of when she will recognize her answer!:) she is 68 and used to dance!! she is the cutest old lady with the best personality ever!! hahah i will have to take a picture with her so that all yall can see how cute she is!

then there is this boy and girl named michael and paula. they are dating and living together and she was pregnant with his baby but just had a miscarriage which is heart breaking! anyways paula doesnt know if she loves michael anymore and michael just goes and gets drunk everyday because in the last 6 months he has lost his dad, mom , brother, and now his baby.... ya their life is so hard right now, its sad. but they are the sweetest kindest people ever!! i love them so much and i know that this gospel can help them out! this is what they need so hopefully there hearts and ears will be open to understanding our messages!!
it has been raining here like crazy! a tornato almost past though lake charles on friday and then this lady named tish that i have talked about before her and husband want us to come over for dinner this saturday and share our message with them! thats a miracle right there because before tish's husband was kind of bashing on us but i think because we were so kind and didnt try to prove them in anyway the spirit was able to come in and testify to them and from that i think we spiked their interest!! yaaay!! well my time is up! i love you all!! the church is true! tell your friends! remember who you are! your all sons and daughters of god who wants the best for you so go out and do what is right and god will bless and strengthen you! i love yall!!

temple week!

typical companion pictures by the temple!!

these are all of the sisters that i am over

hello everyone!!

well this week was completely crazy!! haha this week was completely different from every other week so it started off with being able to go to the temple tuesday, we spent the night with the vidor sisters and then a member from vidor drove us 4 sisters up to the temple. after the temple on the way home the AP's called and told us that they need the car for a week and that they were going to get it wednesday (the next day) and that we werent going to get it back until next week on thurday. i kind of freaked out because it wasn't that much time notice that they gave us. so wednesday we had no car. thursday we spent all day trying to find rides to places that we need to go and it was raining all week so we got the chance to ride our bikes in the rain... it was awesome and then friday we found out that we would get ourcar back saturday, yaaay!! elder swank (he is the one that is en charge of all of the cars) came down and brought the car down to sister Burgoyne and he told us that our other car was totaled and that because of that my driving privileges were being taken away for the rest of my mission.... it made me a little bit bummed out because even though i dont really like driving i REALLY dont like holding the phone so that means for the next 9 months i will be holding the phone everyday and i will have not driven for 9 months straight by the time i get home...

other than that things are going pretty good, yesterday in church this guy spoke off of elder Uchdorfs talk about the grace of god and how the grace of god wont be just for the next life but the grace of god plays everyday into our own lifes if we just let it. i loved that and i love that we have the chance to learn everyday. i ask all of you to open up your scriptures and read and see what god wants you to know at this time. i love you all so much and i am just so grateful for the scriptures and living prophets who we have today. remember who you are!! you are all beautiful children of god who loves you more than you can comprehend.

wednesday sister Burgoyne and i decided that we weregoing to have a good day. we found members to take us placesand we went to an appointment where we went to another church and helped this guy named herbert clean his church and then we taught him a lesson:) we are actually planing to go to a bible study class at his church this tuesday:) hahah then on the way back president called and said "will you sister be at your apartment in an hour? we really werent but sayd yes. and he said " good we will be there in an hour, we have a car for you" sister Burgoyne and i just started freaking out!! like ahhhh!!!!:) we ran home and just tracted around our house for a little bit till he came so from that we now have a car. i cant drive right now which is fine with me but ya! then later that night we met with this guy named tomas, he is 24 years old and we have only taught him 1 other time which was last week. we were teaching him about the book of mormon and we asked him if he had any questions he said "ya how do you guys do baptism".... my mouth just dropped! we told him and at the end we invited him to be baptized for may 9th and he said if he gets his answer by then then he will. the on sunday he came to church! it was awesome!!!! so please pray that he will get his answer and that he will progress to that date!!!:)
thurday was my half way mark and so sister Burgoyne and i got some texas roadhouse rolls to celebrate and then this lady that we met wednesday took us out to this place called hibachi grill. its this Japanese restaurant where they cook everything in front of you, it was so fun! and this lady named tish is feeding us this friday and we are going to start teaching her and her husband!:) i will have to tell you more about her next time when i have more time:)

tomorrow we are going to the temple and we are staying the night in vidor because some members in vidor are taking us with the vidor sisters:) yep and that is everything! hope yall have an amazing week!! thank you so much for the prayers!! they truly do help a lot!! i love you all!!

April 6, 2015

this is my district on p day
i got to see sister to'o for the last time before she goes home at transfer meeting because i had to be at a meeting in kingwood at 8 in the morning on tuesday

hey everyone!,
so many things happened this week/ nothing at the sametime. this weekend was conference which was amazing:) some of our appointments got canceled on us this last week so sister Burgoyne and i just ended up watching conference at the church with all of the other missionaries. it was pretty fun though and in between sessions we played volley ball and had some of our less actives come and watch conference with us:)
sister Burgoyne and i are without a car for about a month or so, so we will be able to have the chance of riding our bikes everywhere! haha its pretty stressful but its totally fine because maybe we will be able lose some weight from it! hahah plus that means i will be able to get a tan as well:)
since ive been down here in lake charles i have been studying on faith and how i can get more faith in all that i do, and so it was amazing when at conference every single talk without fail talked about faith. i find it so interesting the way that god answers our prayers. my favorite talks were elder holland, elder uchtdorfs, and one of the 70... hahah i dont remember his name right off the top of my head.
this week i will only be in my area for about two days because tonight i have to go up to kingwood which is 3 hours away and tomorrow we have this big meeting that they do with all of the zone leaders and sister Training leaders an how we can help all of the other missionaies... i guess they do this the first week of every month.. exciting huh? it will go from about 8 am till 4 or 430 and then i will have to drive home! then thursday is planing day and friday and saturday i will be in vidor doing exchanges... the perks of being an STL... so i might not have a lot to say next week about my area but i will probably have a lot to say about what i have learned. well i love you all!!
