sister Crump and i tried to make texas cookies during weekly planning. but they didnt turn out that good...
hello everyone!
a lot of things happened this week!. First off transfer calls were on saturday and i was so scared because i didnt want to get transferred 2 days before thanksgiving. 2nd because i felt like i still had work to do in huffman and 3rd because i wanted to stay longer with sister Crump. luckily i got my wish!! i am staying another transfer here in huffman! i also found out that sister McPherson who is in my zone is now a sister training leader and is going to train again!! hahah its crazy because in each zone there are 2 sister training leaders and the other sister training leader in our zone is sister Enright who was sister Crumps trainer!! so sister Crump and i sister training leaders are our moms!! (moms = trainers in the mission language) haha isnt that awesome!! also that means that i will be staying in this area for 6 months!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
this week my district had the privilege of doing service in the humble area. we were there from 10 am till 2 pm putting things together to give to the homeless. and the lady that was in charge of it all was so impressed that she wants us to come back for Christmas!! it was such an amazing experience to see the look on the peoples faces as we gave them there food and also a good little opportunity to do missionary work! although no one wanted to listen to a message they now know that we are messengers of Jesus Christ and we planted a lot of seeds from it!!
yesterday i found out that the bishop wants sister Crump Elder Knebel and i to speak at church this coming sunday! our topic is on gratitude and thanksgiving. Im pretty nervous because im not a big fan of doing talks in church but im a missionary so i (GET) to do it right? haha well you will all have to wish me good luck on it because its kind of stressing me out!
this transfer we have really been working with our less actives and this man named Aaron Wright who is a less active went on a mission to Washington and now he is less active. I found him my first week here during hour of power but didnt get back in with him until sister Crump came. since then we have gone to see him atleast once a week and last week we were seeing him and we are just straight up with him because he used to be a missionary so he already knows what we are going to ask him to do so we were trying to get him to come to church and he finally told us that his desire has changed and that he now has a desire to come to church because of us but it might just take a little while. i know that doesnt sound like that much but if you know Aaron then you would know that that is something big! i love how as long as we are doing our job and working diligently then God will give us miracles just like for example sister Crump and I went to this baptism yesterday for the humble ward, We had been trying all week long to get someone to this baptism and finally 9 mins before it began we called this recent convert named shawna Terpstra and asked her if she would like it come. She said yes in no time was there. It truly was a miracle! i love seeing how God works as we try our very best to do the lords work.
i love you all!! i hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving!! i know i will be! keep up the good work by being examples to all of those around you! and i promise as you do this the lord will bless you:) love you all!! and happy thanksgiving!!!
love, sister Turpin
