miracle upon miracles

this is the spanish family that i talk about.

these kids that we started teaching look how fat that kid looks!! haha hes only 3 but hes so cute and funny!!! hahaha

hey yall!

hahah so this past week has been an amazing week:) sister To'o and i saw so many miracles!! first off we got 4 referrals which is awesome because we havent been getting any and then yesterday we had 7 investigators come to church!! yaaay!!!! one being a family of 5. they are from Honduras and the mom and dad only speak spanish and there kids speak english. we would pass them off the the hermas but we dont have any missionaries that speak spanish outhere so we get to teach them! luckly enough we have a lot of people in our ward who speak spanish and they can translate for us so yesterday we taught them the first lesson and they are feeding us honduras food this wednesday which is nerve racking and exciting all at the sametime. they are such a wonderful family with such high standards.
then we got a referral and we went to go call up the lady and the lady told us that she feels like she has always been a mormon at heart and we are seeing her this saturday:)

every other saturday we do this thing with all of the missionaries in our mission called the spoken pedal where we go out and ride our bikes and in lake charles we have the north side which is the sketchy side and not one member lives there and then we have the south side which is where the church is and where we live. anyways sister To'o and i went and road our bikes on the north side and everyone we passed would be like, look!! theres a white girl!! haha it was so weird to be in that prospective! haha then sister To'o and i talked to these guys and at first they were kind of making fun of us which i didnt really realize until afterwards but while we were talking to them sister To'o did a rap and it was the coolest thing ever! the best part was, was that we just kept baring our testimony and even though they didnt want to listen afterwards they were really nice to us and told us some places that we shouldnt go down because they are so sketchy.

we found so many people that have been prepared by the lord and im excited to see the fruits of mine and sister To'o's labor come to life:) this area is so blessing and i know that as sister To'o and i keep having faith and are obedient while being diligent then great things can happen. thank you so much for all of your prayers! i love you all! the church is true! tell your friends, be an example to all those you come in contact with and the lord will not just bless them but he will bless you as well.

January 26, 2015

hello everyone!,

well this has been a hard working week!! this week we had president interviews and some training on how we should be planning for things. everything went very well and sister To'o and i are excited to see the blessings that are going to come from everything we learned. We found out that there used to be two ward here but now there is only 1 so we have decided that we are going to make a second ward:) hahaha we have to drive, we have the motivation now we are going to work hard and trust that the lord will bless us for it and help our dreams come to life:)

tomorrow we have a funeral for this less active and sister To'o and i have the privilege of singing at it!! hahaha also im going to ask if sister To'o and i can give a talk in church so that the members can get to know us a little more and trust us:) the ward here is very nice but i really want to get to know them and see what i can do to help them.

the weither here has been pretty nice! somedays its REALLY cold and other days its perfect! saturday was a great day and sister To'o and i went and rode our bikes! that day we contacted 26 people and im excited to go back and see the miracles we see as we teach these people:)

sorry theres nothing to exciting to write about this week! and we were so busy that i didnt have time to take pictures but hopefully it will be better next week!! we are teaching this little boy named michael leDuex and he has a date to be baptized febuary 21st so hopefully everything will go as planned!! i love you all! thank you for your prayers and love for you! yall are the best!! yep.... i said yall..... im trying really hard to speak the language here:) haha

louisiana

this was my last zone:).... i miss all of them!!! now im out in the country and i dont see any missionaries!!:(
me and my baby from my king cake!

sister To'o

hey yall!!

hahah so i am now in Louisiana, and in the white hand book it talks about how we need to talk in our mission language so im trying really hard to say yall and fixen and fina but we will see how long this lasts!! hahaha

so this week was transfers, the day before was pday and the missionaries were playing basketball and the ball was in the air and i tried to catch it or something but instead it just nicked my finger. so of course my finger starts hurting so i ask sister Crump to kiss it better but it that didnt help at all:( the rest of the day my finger was just swelling up and getting all bruised and so at transfer meeting i asked to doctor what was wrong with it and he told my that i sprang my finger and that i tore so ligaments... yep so i just had to be really careful with it and not play any sports that have balls with them for the next couple of weeks... ahahah

then i found out that i was supposed to be in a trio and that i was supposed to be training this visa waiter but in the end she got her visa and so im not in a trio luckily!! haha

now Louisiana.... what can i say, the area has been lacking and everything was very disorganized here but luckly my companion sister To'o (shes poly and she is from las vegas) was nice enough to let me organize everything and there arent a lot of people that we are teaching but thats ok because we have faith that we are going to see a lot of miracles and baptize the world!!! hahaha the ward here is nothing like huffman but i can see a lot of potential for the ward and i have a lot that i learned in huffman that i think will help me gain the trust of the members here:)

i havent had any weird food yet down here except the other day i had this thing called a king cake! so mardi gra is really big down here so everytime around madi gra they have this weird cake that is kind of like a cinnamin roll with frosting on top and inside of the cake there is this little baby of baby jesus! now who ever gets the baby has to buy the next king cake and so on and so forth! haha so i was really worried that i was going to get the baby! and guess what!? i got the baby!! haahah yep but the good thing is, is that who ever gets the baby i guess also gets good luck! awesome huh!? haha

haha i hope you have a wonderful week full of miracles and blessings as you strive to follow jesus Christs example. i love you all! opps!! i mean i love yall so much! the church is true! tell your friends be an example all around you!

love, your favorite sister Turpin:)

transfers!!!

emily and billy got married at the stake center

billy, cody and olivia were baptized

michelle one of my favorite investigators ever!!

my ginger bread house that i made
heeeeeeeyyyy ya'll!!!!

sorry i still dont say ya'll yet but sooner or later i probably will:) so this week has been CRAZY!!! so thrusday emily and billy got married at the stake center and sister Crump and i were so lucky that we got to go:) then saturday was flush calls and good thing is that we arent getting flushed then saturday billy, cody and olivia were baptized and the service was amazing!! so many people came that we had to go to the chapel to hold everyone and the spirit was so strong! one funny thing.

when cody went in the water to get baptized he slipped right before he went under water and so he yelled really loud and it was the funnest things ever!! hahah then sunday all three got confirmed and when had an investigator michelle at church. And if anyone know me i love michelle to death!! like we will be best friends forever! thats how much a love her!:)

and on top of the wedding and the baptism this week i was sick and so sister Crump was so nice to let me sleep infor a littly bit on tuesday and then we had to go to family history training with all of our zone and while we were there the lady made all of the missionaries stand up and say who there recent converts were and which ones had become less active. when it was sister Crumps and I's turn which we were the last the lady asked if who had become less active who were recent converts and it was so funny because none of our converts are less active so we were like.... "none" hahah and the lady was so shocked! she then asked us how we did it and we just told her how our ward is so good at fellowshipping people and making them feel loved.
then sister Crump got really sick after me and i think i gave it to her which is really sad and then saturday night we got the call and i am getting transfered... im sad to leave but i feel like my work here is done. and i feel as though i am on to new and better things and its alright because sister Crump and i went out on a bang:)

well i love you all! i will tell you all where my new area is at and who my new companion is next week but untill then just remember how much god loves you and how you are a child of god.

love, sister Turpin

merry christmas!!

sister Crump helping make cookies, (if you look really close you can tell that sister Crump is really messy!!) hahah

Merry Christmas everybody!!

this last week has been AWESOME! so many things have happened but i will just summarize it all:) so for the past month now sister Crump and i have been meeting with this man named Billy. he is dating this girl who's name is Emily, She was excommunicated but is trying to get back to church! anyways they are living together and they are planing on getting married and Billy wants to get sealed in the temple to Emily.and ever since sister Crump and i have been meeting with Billy we have been praying for a date to invite Billy to get baptized on and january 3rd just kept popping up in our heads so finally last night after teaching billy, and his son Cody and Emily's daughter Olivia we invited him to be baptized! but before all of this Billys home teachers came over and  billy was sick and they offered to give him a blessing. and the spirit was so strong.we asked him about it after, and he told us it was really overwhelming, and then really peaceful.  so we taught him and his family the plan of salvation. such a perfect lesson:) but after we talked to him about getting baptized.. and he was like ya, i want to. and emily started freaking out cuz that means they are getting married!!!!!!!! but also that means they are getting married in the next 2 weeks. billy was like i could do that! we could just get married and make the temple wedding the big one.
thats not even the best part. 2 of their kids will be getting baptized with them. and then emily will be eligible for baptism in a  year or so and billy will be able to baptize her and then a year after that they will be able to get sealed!! ahhhh!!! and at the end of the lesson emily was in tears and was like, i hope you never forget our family. you have made such an impact on us.!! like wow...... sister Crump and i just couldnt stop freaking out! and it is a christmas miracle because we are getting a baptism for christmas!!! my dreams came true!!! ahhhhh best miracle story ever huh!?

hahah and this week sister Crump and i also got to go do some service for this place called HAAM. we did some service there for thanksgiving but we also did if for christmas but it was amazing because we got to give out presents to people for there kids and some many were crying afterwards and then sister Crump and i got to make cookies with this family in our ward named the whites:) and after wards we went and handed them out to our investigators and the less actives. then sister Crump and i invited another one of our investigators named sonia to be baptized on january 10 and she said yes! we are going back tuesday night to confirm it with her:) oh and she also came to church yesterday and she loved it!! ahhh!! miracle on top of miracle on top of miracles huh!!? a lot more happened but i can write about it all because im already to sick of typing sorry!!

well i love you all! i hope you have a wonderful christmas! be good so that you dont get coal!!

love, sister turpin
